Neighbor Shoots and Kills Father and Young Daughter, 11, Over His Vicious Dog!

An active shooter call in Port St. Lucie, Florida quickly escalated into something more when a neighbor dispute ended with three people dead. Police were called out to the SE Morningside Boulevard near South Port Middle School for an active shooter at a residence. The caller, a juvenile, reported shots were fired inside of her home. PSL Police arrived on scene to find an adult male dead and a thirteen-year-old female critically injured; later died at the hospital.

Port St Lucie police said Guy Alexander Hansman, 55, and his daughter, Harper Hansman, were shot and killed by their neighbor, 82-year-old Ronald Delserro, after a Monday court hearing that had determined Delserro’s dog was dangerous.

Here's the backstory:

On March 4, 2020, Port St. Lucie Police Department animal control officers responded to the victim and suspect’s residences for a dog bite involving the suspect’s dog, a female gray Mastiff named “Roxy”. The adult female victim reported she was attacked and bitten by the suspect’s dog, which led to a Dangerous Dog hearing.

On May 5, 2020, the suspect was issued a citation for failure to safely confine the dog.

On July 1, 2020, Port St. Lucie Police animal control officers served the suspect with final declaration paperwork indicating the dog “Roxy” would be deemed dangerous.

On July 6, 2020, at 12:45pm, Delserro went to his neighbors house with two guns and began shooting.

“They all came home from court and then the suspect armed himself and went to the victim’s house,”says St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara. “If you heard this call come over the radio, it would make the hair on your neck stand,” Mascara said “A little girl calls in saying, there’s someone shooting in our house.”

At the time of the shooting, there were a total of six people, not including the shooter, inside of the house. Hansman and his 11-year-old daughter, Harper, were both mortally wounded. Hansman, who had been found in the garage of the home died on the scene and Harper died at a local hospital. The other four occupants managed to escape.

When the police arrived they exchanged gunfire with Delserro, who was still inside of the Hansman home. Delsero was found in an upstairs bedroom of the Hansman home dead. It is unclear, at this time, if his injuries were self-inflicted or sustained during the volley of shots. An officer was also shot twice, once in the leg and once in the chest but, thankfully he was wearing a bulletproof vest and his injuries were not life threatening.
