Man Confesses to Killing College Student Because She Ignored His Catcalls!

The man accused of killing a 19-year-old University of Illinois student reportedly says that he did so because she ignored his catcalls and advances.

University sophomore and honor student Ruth George was dropped off at approximately 1:30am on the college campus by a rideshare driver. The student was returning from an event and was approached by the 26-year-old suspect Donald Thurman.

According to ABC News "One of George's friends went back to her dorm while George walked alone to the parking garage on Halsted Street, where she had parked her car, prosecutors said. As she walked past a bus stop, Thurman allegedly noticed her and "thought she was pretty and tried talking to her," but George ignored him and continued walking.

Thurman, who was wearing a "distinctive white jacket," was seen on surveillance video following George to where her car was parked, according to the court document. Thurman then allegedly catcalled her and tried to talk to her again, but George continued to ignore him."

"When George got to her car, Thurman allegedly "was angry that he was being ignored," the charging document states. He then allegedly grabbed her neck from behind and put her in a choke hold, causing her to fall to the ground.

While she was unconscious, Thurman allegedly threw George into the back of her car and sexually assaulted her, authorities said."

George's family became concerned when she never returned home after the event and began to search for her. Her sisters reportedly used a locator to find her phone which lead them to the parking garage. They found her body in the backseat of her car with her clothes torn and obvious signs of sexual abuse. Her attacker had left a used condom at the scene.

Detectives also found scuff marks on the ground where George had been dragged along the pavement of the parking garage.

"Surveillance video allegedly showed Thurman running from the parking garage about 35 minutes after he followed George inside the structure. The white jacket he was wearing at the time was found at his home, prosecutors said.

Thurman was arrested when he returned to the area on Sunday and allegedly admitted during an interview that he choked George and threw her in the car. He admitted to sexually assaulting George but denied raping her, according to the court document. He also allegedly said that he knew his DNA would be "all over the scene."

Thurman, who was already on parole for armed robbery has been charged with first-degree murder and criminal sexual assault. He is currently being held without bond.

This crime brings up an old subject that women have been addressing for years. We do NOT feel safe almost anywhere. If we ignore some men, we get harassed or killed. If we entertain their advances to let them down nicely, some are still attacked and then told "she was asking for it". What is is going to take for some men to realize that we DO NOT have to entertain them, talk to them or give them the time of day. We have the right to exist without being pressured into accepting unwanted advances.

Clearly Donald Thurman needs to remain behind bars FOREVER.

Our prayers are with Ms. George's family.
