More Charges Filed Against Jason "DJ Kidd" Pope in Sex Trafficking Case.
Last month we broke the story on Jason "DJ Kidd" Pope who ALLEGEDLY targeted Black women for sex trafficking and potentially spreading the HIV virus. Although the claims that he was intentionally spreading the disease haven't been confirmed, other than the text message he allegedly sent to one woman, the sex trafficking charges have been founded and continue to grow.
According to ABC15 news Pope has been charged with FIVE new charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor victim between 11-14 years old and another count of trafficking in persons. Those new charges were filed on November 7th and confirmed by Pope's attorney Rose Mary Parham.
Right now, Pope is being held in jail without bond.
Pope now faces a total of 15 charges.
Attorneys with the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said during Pope’s initial bond hearing back in August in Florence that he’s a very dangerous person.
Warrants from his previous charges stated Pope recruited women and underage girls and had sex with them on various occasions between September 2017 and July 2019, providing the victims with money and gifts in exchange. The warrants also stated he held some victims against their wills in Darlington and Florence in order to have them perform sex acts.
The warrants stated Pope knew some of the victims were under the age of 18, although they did not say if any of the women held against their wills were underage.
Pope has been implicated in 14 incidents between December 2011 to April 2019 that involved underage girls and/or sexual assault.
Pope is currently at the Florence County Detention Center on his current charges. His bond was denied. The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General‘s Office.
At this time his current HIV status is NOT being divulged to the public. We can only take the word of those who said he disclosed the information to them personally.
Either way, we're glad he's off of the streets!
