Chicago Area Man Caught on Video Drowning His Wife in Their Hot Tub!
A suburban area Chicago man is in hot water, literally, after allegedly drowning his wife in their backyard! 58-year-old Eric Huska has been charged with involuntary manslaughter after his wife was found floating in the couples hot tub. The suspicious death occurred this past Saturday while the couple were relaxing and having a few drinks in their hot tub. At some point Mr. Huska left the hot tub and closed it with his wife still inside!
Via The Daily Herald:
"Investigators later discovered footage from a home security camera that showed the couple had been drinking in the hot tub for some time when Laura Huska, 57, tried unsuccessfully to get out, police said. The video shows Eric Huska at first helping his wife but then closing the tub's lid over her and walking into the house, police said.
"For whatever reason he put the cover over her head," Deputy Chief Todd Wolff said. "We are sure alcohol was a major factor."
Wolff said the video shows Laura initially struggling against the cover before eventually stopping. The video shows Eric Huska returning to the tub about 90 minutes later, opening the lid and finding his wife floating in the water, police said.
Eric Huska called 911 about 6:45 p.m. and emergency personnel rushed to the home, but they were unable to revive Laura Husk, police said. She was taken to Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview and pronounced dead, authorities say."
We don't know how he thought he was going to get away with this especially KNOWING that his house had security cameras. The Cook County Medical Examiner has ruled Mrs. Huska's death to be "drowning by entrapment". The police report that they have never been called to the Huska residence and Mr. Huska does not have a criminal record.
Huska appeared in court yesterday morning and was being held on a $10,000 bond. There's been no word on whether or not he posted the $1,000 needed to buy his temporary freedom.
If convicted, Eric Huska faces up to 14 years in prison.
