Texas Man Turns Himself in After 3 Dead Children Found in His Home.

A Texas husband and father is now behind bars after he made a gruesome call to police. 27-year-old Junaid Mehmood called 911 to confess to killing his children, and trying to kill his wife, late last night.

The call came after a welfare check on his family found his children dead and his wife clinging to life.

"Officers said they were responding to a welfare check around 6:15 p.m. at the Pointe Ann Apartments. When they arrived on 10th Street North, they discovered the victims' bodies and found a woman with a gunshot wound to her head.

Two of the victims are believed to be 2 and 5 years old. The third victim was an infant, police said.

The woman was transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she is in stable condition and is being treated for her wounds."

Mehmood made the call and then surrendered to authorities when they arrived.

There are no details yet on how Mehmood murdered his children but we do know the genders of the children. They were one infant and one 5-year-old who were girls and a 2-year-old little boy.

This isn't Mehmood's first run in with the police either.

"He has a rap sheet with multiple arrests in Galveston and Harris County since 2010, records show.

He was arrested for hitting a girlfriend in 2014 and served 20 days in jail for that offense. The conditions of his sentencing made it illegal for him to possession a firearm, according to court documents.

In 2015, Mehmood was arrested after shoving a family member and robbing him. He was sentenced that same year to serve three years after pleading guilty to a separate robbery charge."

Right now friends, family and the entire community are trying to understand what happened but Mehmood has given no motive.
