Things Are Getting Worse! Mother and Her Boyfriend Charged With Corpse Tampering in Missing Toddler

There's never any joy in reporting stories such as the one surrounding the disappearance of 2-year-old Hazana Anderson. We've followed this story since it broke and reported on each detail, including just yesterday when the remains of a small child were found.

During this entire process we've all been suspicious of the child's mother, Tiaundra Christon and now, we've got even more of a reason to believe she's responsible for harm coming to little Hazana.

KBTX reports that Tiaundra Christon anf her boyfriend Kenny D'Shawn Hewett have both been charged in the disappearance of 2-year-old Hazana.

"Christon was already being held in the Brazos County Jail on charges from the College Station Police Department, and an additional charge from Galveston County for tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse was added late Thursday. Bond on that charge is listed at $500,000.

Hewett has been charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse and is being held in the Galveston County Jail on $500,000 bond. Investigators with the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested Hewett late Wednesday night in Galveston County.

Hewett has a lengthy criminal background in the Houston area including felony charges for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault on a family member, assault bodily injury of a family member, evading arrest with a motor vehicle and possessing a weapon as a felon.

Hewett waived his right to have counsel appointed at a magistration on Thursday.

Remains consistent with a small child were recovered during the investigation into Hazana Anderson's disappearance near State Highway 146 in Texas City.

Tabodrick Anderson, Hazana's father, tells KBTX he knew the boyfriend was a suspect all along. He says Christon and Hewett's stories lined up, and that's what led investigators to Texas City on Wednesday.

Anderson said he feels like he's living in a bad dream.

“A part of me feels like it was to get back at me. A lot of times, we had discussions, whether it was arguments, of me just wanting my daughter. Whatever she was doing, she could have did it, I just wanted my daughter,” Anderson said.

Anderson said he's confident the remains found Wednesday are Hazana, and he's already planning her funeral arrangements.

College Station Police worked with Texas Rangers, Bryan Police, Houston Police, Bellaire Police and the Galveston County Sheriff's Office to recover the remains.

College Station Police could not disclose what led them to the site in Texas City.

Tiaundra Christon was previously charged with endangering a child and for making a false report with a bond set at $250,000. Police said Wednesday they were actively interrogating Christon and reaching out to other family members and people who knew Hazana."

Our hearts go out to this child's family, especially her father. Nothing in this world would ever help us to understand how a mother could do this to her child.
