The students at the prestigious Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, FL probably have just made history as some of the most sentimental and inspiring people I've ever seen. Recently, on their teacher's birthday, they all organized a special tribute to her, presenting her with sunflowers, as they read heartfelt sentiments to their beloved instructor. What started off as a regular day on the job, quickly became one that Nursing Instructor Miriam Laffoon will never forget! One student, identified by the Facebook name NaTasha Avirilien (but called Desiree by Ms. Laffoon), posted the video with the caption:
"This morning my teacher got proposed to on her Birthday . Me and my classmates and a couple of the instructors including her fiancé had the pleasure of putting all of this together. ❤️❤️❤️💍💍💍😍😍 we love you Ms.Laffoon ❤️❤️❤️ my teacher getting married!!!!🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️
Grab some tissue and take a look!
Congratulations are definitely in order to Ms. Laffoon and her new fiancé'! If Bethune-Cookman University sounds familiar it's because it's one of the best HBCU's in the country. Founded by Mary McLeod-Bethune in the early 1900's as an all girls school with just $1.50 and 5 students, Bethune-Cookman University now has approximately 4, 000 students both male and female.
