Every generation has it's "fight song". The song that encourages listeners to keep pushing through hardships, trials and past their own limitations. Queen gave us "We Are the Champions", Survivor gave us "Eye of the Tiger" and Destiny's Child gave us "Survivor". This year, Carrie Underwood got a little help from Ludacris to give us all her personal ball cry "The Champion".
If you didn't know, Carrie suffered a fall late last year that left her with broken bones and in need of some facial reconstruction. After the accident, Carrie penned an open letter to her fans saying "I’m still healing and not quite looking the same. I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way.”
Her appearance in the video for "The Champion" is the first public appearance she's made since the accident and, although there are no close or unobstructed shots of her, she looks pretty much the same to me. Either way, the song is a call for strength and remembering who you are when faced with adversity. Take a listen to "The Champion" and post your thoughts.
