Last week Tavis Smiley became one of the latest male celebrities to be accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace. Immediately after the allegations surfaced PBS fired Smiley from his evening talk show. Smiley then took to social media to make his first official statement. Watch that video below.
The defense strategy didn't stop there, earlier this morning Tavis Smiley took a seat with the hosts of Good Morning America to attempt to fully clear his name. In the interview, Smiley went on record as saying:
"PBS made a huge mistake here. They need to fix this. They need to correct it. But I don’t know the answer."
"In our employee handbook, while we do not encourage office relationships, we do not forbid them either."
