Get It Gabby! Gabby Sidibe Shows Off Her New Shape!

In case you haven't heard, Gabourey Sidibe (of "Precious", "American Horror Story" and "Empire" fame) recently opened up about her decision to have weight loss surgery a few months ago. She has revealed in several interviews since then that she had the surgery after battling a decade of trying to lose weight naturally. She says

"I outlived my first trainer! He died of cancer. He was so great. I lost a ton of weight with him, then I didn’t; I really, really tried — I gave a valiant try. So I’m glad that I finally realized that the surgery wasn’t the easy way out. I wasn’t cheating by getting it done. I wouldn’t have been able to lose as much as I’ve lost without [the surgery]. I spent years trying to lose this much weight, and I didn’t do it. I wish I’d done it sooner.I was off between March and July, and I went in, and I had the surgery a month and two days after the first meeting. It was just about time. It lined up for me." (People March 13, 2017)

Listen, I'm all for being happy and living the life that pleases you by any means necessary and if this is what it took for her to be who she knew she was on the inside, GET IT GABBY! I've never subscribed to the book of bodyshamers so I'm all in for a woman who loves who she is and what she looks like in spite of the ideals of others. I think she looks beautiful! Yes ma'am! Not only is her melanin pippin! She picked a suit that compliments her changing figure and a color that makes her chocolate skin look even better! I'm here for it!

Her confidence is a serious LIFE GOAL! I love the way that she carries herself and the slow weight loss looks wonderful on her. (Honestly, we all know some people who lose weight too fast and end up with "turkey neck" don't we?)
