Bowers, who was originally from New York, studied psychology at Roanoke College in Virginia and worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation. She was engaged to be married. She had everything going for her until she was found murdered in her home this past Friday.
Georgia police believe that it wasn't an unknown intruder that left Bowers dead in her home in the 500 block of Adirondac Way. but, her own 13-year-old son.
According to a news release from the Warner Robins Police Department, officers got the call from the possible suspect about shots fired just before 1:30 p.m. Officers were able to find the suspect in the 300 block of Old Perry Road.
Police took the boy into custody and handed him over to the Houston County Juvenile Division. His identity is not being released.
Warner Robins police said the teen made his first appearance in court Saturday morning and has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
The teen is being held at the Crisp County Juvenile Detention Center.
Details surrounding this case are few but we do know that this child has possibly committed one of the worst crimes ever. As someone who doesn't have their own mother any more, this one hits different.
